Jonathan Quick Set To Start Against Red Wings
Jonathan Quick is expected to start for the New York Rangers on Saturday night against the Detroit Red Wings.
This comes after Igor Shesterkin gave up five goals on 12 shots in the Rangers’ Thursday night 6-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres and was pulled as a result.
Shesterkin has started 10 out of New York’s 12 games thus far, so it makes sense to give him a little bit of a breather.
Last season, Quick served an important role for the Rangers, recording an 18-6-2 record, 1.65 goals against average and .946 save percentage.
Through three games, the 38-year-old goaltender currently holds a 2-0-0 record, 1.65 goals against average and .946 save percentage.
