Yahoo Sports Jon Jones Says He'll Be Back in the Octagon ‘Really Soon'
UFC interim light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, just days removed from striking a plea deal in an alleged drag racing case, sounds as if he's come into some good news regarding his UFC Anti-Doping Policy case.
He is in hot water with both the Nevada Athletic Commission and United States Anti-Doping agency after he tested positive for Hydroxy Clomiphene (an anti-estrogenic agent) and Letrozole metabolite (an aromatase inhibitor) in his June 16 out-of-competition drug screen. The drug test forced him out of his UFC 200 headlining bout with Daniel Cormier.
While Jones is unable to provide details of the case, as it is ongoing, he appeared in a video on Sunday, saying that he expects to be back in the Octagon soon.
“How's it going Bones Jones supporters? If there are any of you guys still out there. Just wanted to take a few seconds to say hello to you all and to give you a little update on how I've been doing,” said Jones. “I've been doing really good; been training, spending time with family, attacking some of these legal issues that I've gotten myself into, trying really to just leave that all behind once and for all.

“I'm sure you guys are curious about what's going on with this USADA situation. Obviously, I can't get into it because it's still pending, but what I can say is that we have found out lots of really good news and I am expecting to be back in the Octagon really soon.”
Just what “really soon” means, we obviously don't know. Jones, however, isn't expected to go before the Nevada Athletic Commission for his disciplinary hearing over the positive drug test until September or October. He certainly won't be able to return to the Octagon until that has taken place. USADA doesn't comment on pending cases, so it is unclear when we'll know more on his standing with the agency, which administers the UFC Anti-Doping Policy independently of the NAC.
