Johny Hendricks Promises that Stephen Thompson Fight Won't Be a Decision
Former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks heads into UFC Fight Night 82 on Saturday with the intentions of finishing number eight-ranked Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson.
The 32-year-old has gone to a decision in his last four outings, but predicts the decision streak will end at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
“I don’t want to take it to a decision, so however I can do it, I’m going to do it. I just promise you that it’s not going to go to a decision,” Hendricks said during a recent appearance on UFC Tonight.

“Big Rigg” has trimmed down for his fight against Thompson. He’s working with a new nutritionist and the results have been noticeable during his event week media appearances.
“It’s a new Johny, and everybody gets to see what the new Johny can do,” he said. “I think that my power is back. My cardio feels awesome. Everything that I could ask for in a fight preparation, it’s there.”
A win over Thompson would keep Hendricks ranked near the top of the 170-pound division and in sight of a trilogy matchup against reigning champion Robbie Lawler.
