Johnson vs. Dodson Rematch Heads UFC 191; Paige Van Zant and Anthony Johnson on Board

After an injury delayed the planned UFC 191 showdown between light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson, the UFC shifted gears and, on Wednesday night, announced that a rematch between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson would headline the Sept. 5 fight card in Las Vegas.

The promotion also revealed Anthony Johnson vs. Jan Blachowicz and Paige VanZant vs. Alex Chambers for the fight card, slated for the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Johnson (22-2-1) and Dodson (17-6) first fought in the main event of UFC on Fox 6 in January of 2013. It was Johnson's first defense of the flyweight championship he won by defeating Joseph Benavidez. Dodson had his moments in the fight, dropping the champion twice with big left hand punches, but Johnson took control of the better part of the fight and nearly finished it in the closing moments.

The two have been on a collision course to a rematch ever since, Dodson winning all three of his fights and Johnson winning his five.

Anthony Johnson (19-5) returns for the first time since he lost to Daniel Cormier when the two met for the Jon Jones-vacated light heavyweight belt at UFC 187. He faces Blachowicz (18-4), who is also coming off of a loss, after he dropped a unanimous decision to Jimi Manuwa in April.

One of the fastest rising stars in the UFC, VanZant (5-1) returns for her third trip to the Octagon, having defeated Felice Herrig and Kailin Curran in her first two UFC bouts. She faces Chambers (5-2), who lost her UFC debut, but enters this fight having also defeated Curran.
