Johnny Manziel, Teddy Bridgewater visiting Patriots

In a bit of a surprising development, the New England Patriots are hosting two of the top quarterbacks in the NFL draft for visits.

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater are visiting the Patriots today, according to multiple reports.

The Patriots could be planning ahead for the future since quarterback Tom Brady turns 37 prior to the season.

Or the Patriots may be gathering information for future games against the quarterbacks or free agency in the future.

Tom Brady does turn 37 before the season, and backup Ryan Mallett has only a handful of snaps in the NFL, so it makes some sense that the team has an eye on the future coming into this year's draft.

The Patriots like to gather information about all the top players.

Drafting 29th overall, the Patriots would need to move up to have an opportunity to draft Manziel or Bridgewater.
