Jersey Fouls of the Week: Prince of New York; Hodor in Washington
Jersey fouls often make pop culture statements.
A fan wearing a foul can pay homage to a favorite television show or a favorite musical act.
The above foul is from our favorite traveling ‘Crosby Sucks’ New York Islanders fan in honor of both Shane Prince and the late, great musician Prince. Also note that he is wearing a Harambe hat in the photo. As we said last week we have a sneaking suspicion that Harambe is going to be a big foul item this year around NHL arenas. Thanks to Jonathan for sending the Prince foul.

“After the Isles got Shane Prince we kinda went crazy with the Prince memes, especially the Chappelle’s Show ones so getting a jersey with the Prince symbol just seemed like the next logical step. Sidney Crosby won the Conn Smythe so it didn’t really seem like ‘Crosby Sucks’ was a good fit anymore. I did the third jersey because the home and away jerseys have a bunch of layers of orange blue and white, whereas the third is just white numbers so it was much easier to have made,” the wearer of the jersey said in a message to Puck Daddy. “The Harambe hat is white so it goes well with the third jersey and both Harambe and Prince died this year so it seemed like a natural fit but I tell people it’s because my generation grew up playing Donkey Kong on Super Nintendo so a gorilla dying is like losing a part of our childhood.”
