New Jersey Devils Send Nico Daws To Utica Comets

The New Jersey Devils announced they have assigned goaltender Nico Daws to their AHL affiliate Utica Comets.

Daws was recalled earlier this morning and sent back to Utica five hours later after it was announced Jake Allen would be returning from his upper body injury and joining the team on their two-game road trip.

The 23-year-old has a 3-9-2 record with a 2.96 GAA and .900 SP in 14 appearances with Utica this season.

Daws appeared in 21 games for the Devils last season and posted a 9-11 record with a 3.11 GAA and .893 SP.

A third round pick in 2020, Daws signed a two-year deal with the Devils in July.

In a flurry of moves due to the Allen activation, the Devils also sent goaltender Isaac Poulter to Utica while goaltender Jeremy Brodeur was returned to the ECHL's Adirondack Thunder by the Comets.
