Ben Affleck's ex-wife Jennifer Garner knew Affleck and his back-on partner Jennifer Lopez were going to get married again before the public, E! reports, and Garner isn't against it at all.
“Ben told Jen and the kids, so they knew about it," a source close to Garner said. “Jen is happy for Ben and knows that J.Lo has been a positive influence in certain ways.” The source added that Lopez and Affleck “had hoped to keep it private a little bit longer." Lopez confirmed she was engaged to Affleck this weekend after a photo came out Thursday of Lopez wearing her engagement ring and sparked rumors.
Another source told E! about Lopez's feelings about the engagement. They're exactly what you'd expect from the longtime romantic singer: “J.Lo is ecstatic and can't wait to be his wife,” that source said. “She believes it's true love and was meant to be.”
The proposal itself was “a very intimate moment, just them two. The proposal was low-key but very meaningful. Ben wanted the ring to be sentimental and put a lot of thought into it.”
A source spoke to Entertainment Tonight in late March about how Garner felt about Affleck and Lopez's relationship being so serious they were on the verge of getting engaged. “Jen Garner and Ben get along well. She is understanding and supportive of Jen and Ben's relationship,” the source said. “She knows Ben is doing well all around and at the end of the day, she just wants what's best for the kids and for things to be seamless and unproblematic. She wants everyone to be happy and healthy and her kids are always the priority. Everyone is feeling good at this point and looking forward to the future.”
