Jayson Tatum becomes youngest player in Celtics history to post 50-point game
Jayson Tatum is still young enough to set Boston Celtics records.
The Celtics star posted a 53-point night on Friday, making him the youngest player in the team's considerable history to score 50 in a single game, per StatMuse. He's also the first Celtics player since Larry Bird to score as many as 53 according to the NBA.
It wasn't a bad-looking 53-point night for Tatum either:

Tatum did get some help from Jaylen Brown though:

Tatum finished with 53 points on 16-of-25 shooting (6-of-10 from deep) with 10 rebounds and four assists, leading the Celtics to a 145-136 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in overtime.
The performance is obviously a career high for Tatum in the points department. It's also the latest episode of another career year for the All-Star, who is now averaging 25.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game for the 27-26 Celtics.
Tatum wasn't the only young player to post a career night either, as the Chicago Bulls' Zach LaVine dropped 50 points (with 39 in the first half) in a loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
