Yahoo Sports Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller Arrested in California for Suspicion of DUI
Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller made headlines earlier this week when it was announced that he was returning to fighting after a four-year hiatus. He signed to fight Luke Barnatt on May 21 in the Italy-based fight promotion Venator Fighting Championship.
Twenty-four hours before Monday’s announcement, Miller sat in an Irvine, Calif. jail after being arrested for suspicion of DUI on the morning of Feb. 7.
Miller has a long history of legal troubles. Most recently, he was arrested in October for assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer. In 2014, he engaged in a standoff with a SWAT team at his home. In 2013, he was arrested twice for domestic violence. In 2012, he was arrested and charged with misdemeanor vandalism of a church.

When law enforcement pulled Miller over, they did not take any chances considering the troubled fighter’s checkered past and history of violence. According to TMZ, 15 police officers and a K9 unit arrived on the scene to assist with the arrest.
Miller was cited and released from custody without incident. It’s unclear whether his recent arrest will jeopardize his return to fighting. The 35-year-old last fought in May 2012, losing to C.B. Dollaway by unanimous decision at UFC 146.
