Jake Tapper points out Rush Limbaugh's failed marriages following Buttigieg comments

On Thursday, CNN’s Jake Tapper had a few words for conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh who, on Wednesday, mocked Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg for kissing his husband Chasten on stage. Limbaugh, who was recently awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, an honor given to one for exceptional contributions to, among other things, world peace and cultural endeavors, had this to say about Buttigieg.

“How’s this going to look, 37 year old gay guy kissing his husband on stage next to Mr. Man Donald Trump? What’s going to happen there?” Limbaugh asked. “There may be some Democrats who think, ‘That’s exactly what we need, Rush. Get a gay guy kissing his husband on stage, ram it down Trump’s throat, and beat him in the general election.’ Really. Have fun envisioning that.”

Buttigieg’s Democratic rival Joe Biden came to his defense, citing Buttigieg’s time in the military as proof of his honor and courage. Tapper, who before playing the clip of Limbaugh said he has a “decades-long record of bigotry against blacks, women and the LGBTQ community,” then took a shot at Limbaugh, who is on his fourth marriage.

“We should point out that Buttigieg is married to one man,” Tapper said. “I don’t even know what number spouse Limbaugh is up to.”

The Lead With Jake Tapper airs weekdays at 4 p.m. on CNN.
