Jake Knapp, Patty Tavatanakit win 2024 Grant Thornton Invitational
Jake Knapp and Patty Tavatanakit never met each other before this week's Grant Thornton Invitational.
Yet it didn't take them long to find camaraderie, and now they're champions.
Knapp and Tavatanakit, both winners on their respective tours in 2024 on the same day in February, captured the title at the second edition of the Grant Thornton since the mixed-team format was introduced in 2023. They opened the event with a 58, good enough for the first-round lead, and then battled over the weekend before pulling ahead down the stretch Sunday at Tiburon Golf Club to claim the title.
The duo finished at 27 under for the week, one shot better than Tom Kim and Jeeno Thitikul. Last month, Thitikul won the CME Group Tour Championship at Tiburon. Last year's winners, Jason Day and Lydia Ko, finished solo sixth at 20 under.
The duo will split the $1 million first-place prize from the $4 million purse.
