Jacoby Brissett thought he was going in after injury, but Brian Flores tabbed Tua Tagovailoa

Tua Tagovailoa wasn't healthy enough to start on Thursday night. But he was healthy enough to come in when the Miami Dolphins needed him in the third quarter.

Jacoby Brissett was sacked by Justin Houston in the third quarter and his leg stuck in the turf. He twisted his knee and immediately grabbed at it, yelling in pain. Tagovailoa grabbed his helmet and started getting ready. But that play was third down and the Dolphins punted.

However, Brissett was moving around on the sideline during the Ravens' next possession and Fox sideline reporter Kristina Pink said Brissett looked like he thought he was going in. Pink said Brissett was frustrated when Dolphins coach Brian Flores told Tagovailoa he was going in instead. The Dolphins led 6-3 at the time and rarely moved the ball on offense through the first possession of the third quarter.

Tagovailoa didn't start the Dolphins' last two games. He had an old injury to his ribs, but it a fractured finger was the main reason he wasn't starting. He wasn't ruled out until hours before Thursday night's game, which presumably means he was close to being healthy enough to start.

The Dolphins were willing to find out if he was healthy enough to help the offense on Thursday night, even after it appeared Brissett was healthy enough to play some more.

Tagovailoa misfired on some passes, and his biggest play was a 64-yard gain in which the Ravens somehow didn't cover Albert Wilson, but he played well enough. The Dolphins got a 22-10 win.

Presumably, there won't be a question about who starts for the Dolphins next week.
