Michigan defensive back Jabrill Peppers was understandably upset following Saturday’s 30-27 double-overtime loss to rival Ohio State, but he probably could have found a better outlet for his emotion.

As Peppers was walking off the field, he got into a shoving match with an Ohio State fan who crossed his path.

Now, it’s difficult to see exactly what prompted the terse interaction, but slowing the video down helps.

In this slo-mo video, it looks like Peppers is walking off the field when Ohio State DB coach Kerry Coombs (not a crazy old guy) grabbed his arm to speak to him. Let’s say it was something nice. As the two are talking, an Ohio State fan runs in between them, which upsets Peppers and he starts the shoving.

Of course, that’s just speculation. The fan could have said something or Peppers could have just been looking for someone to shove (just like Soul Asylum). In either case, players should not get into skirmishes with fans no matter how upset they are about a loss.
