Ibrahimovic: Verratti has surprised me

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has praised his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Marco Verratti, and hailed the starlet’s "immense talent".

Both players arrived from Italy over the summer and have helped PSG stay in the running for the Ligue 1 title.

"Marco is the guy who has surprised me the most," Ibrahimovic admitted to the French club’s official website.

"Though I played in Italy last season, I did not know anything about him because he played in the second division.

"I am in agreement with all the positive things being said about him. I would say he is even better than you think.

"By recruiting him, PSG have made a very good investment. He has immense talent. You just need to give him time to progress at his own pace. Nobody should forget that he just turned 20."

Les Parisiens saw off Stade Brestois 3-0 on Friday night to go into the winter break top of Ligue 1.
