Kansas State wide receiver Hunter Rison was suspended indefinitely on Saturday.

Rison’s suspension comes a day after he was arrested on domestic battery charges. From the Manhattan Mercury:

The Riley County Police Department police arrested Rison at 1:56 p.m. in the 2200 block of College Avenue. He was charged with one count of domestic battery/knowing or reckless bodily to family/person in dating relationship. Rison is free on $1,000 bond.

Kansas State’s statement did not directly mention that Rison had been arrested. It only said that he had been suspended for a violation of team and athletic department policy.

“Our program will be one that is built on hard work and integrity and doing things the right way,” Kansas State coach Chris Klieman said in a statement. “We have extremely high expectations for our players on and off the field.”

Rison tweeted Saturday afternoon that he had done nothing wrong.

Rison is the son of former NFL wide receiver Andre Rison. He originally signed with Michigan State, the school where his father played, as a four-star recruit in the class of 2017. Rison caught 19 passes in his freshman season with the Spartans. He transferred to Kansas State in January of 2018 and sat out the 2018 season because of NCAA transfer rules. He’s been expected to be a major contributor for Kansas State in 2019.
