On June 15 in World Cup history: Hungary puts record 10 past El Salvador in Elche, Spain, in 1982.

Hungary scored the most goals in a single World Cup match when it put 10 past El Salvador in their opening group game in 1982. Despite the 10-1 win, which saw substitute Laszlo Kiss score a seven-minute hat trick, Hungary failed to progress to the next round. Hungary, a two-time losing finalist, hasn't qualified since 1986.
