Unlike football and soccer, hockey has never really been known for team celebrations that are choreographed or planned.

The Carolina Hurricanes have changed that this season with their lighthearted antics after victories on home ice. By the looks of it, they’ve inspired a bit of a culture shift in the sport along the way.

The Maryland Black Bears of the North American Hockey League likely aren’t a team that you know much about (if you’ve even heard of them at all). But they know a thing or two about enjoying a big win.

Following an overtime victory against the Jamestown Rebels over the weekend, the entire team gathered at centre-ice. That would be their starting position for a moving and inspirational performance for those in attendance:

That’s some solid execution right there.

The man tasked with throwing the strike was Matteo Menotti. After a toss like that, you have to think that he’s got some bowling experience under his belt. That’s textbook form and the results speak for themselves.

Why stop there? Nothing against Menotti’s fine work, but if this team wants to truly take things to the next level, they should be calling up a pin-crushing legend by the name of Pete Weber.

Could you imagine this man firing up your squad before a game and then celebrating with him afterwards?

The Black Bears would never lose a game again.

After 18 games so far this season, Maryland is sitting fourth in the East Division with a record of 6-8-4 for 16 points and one viral video.
