He hit lottery jackpot 9 years ago. Now ‘luckiest person in Michigan’ wins big again

A man who won a lottery jackpot less than a decade ago just won another huge prize, potentially making him the “luckiest person in southeast Michigan,” lottery officials said.

Ronald Durham, 64, stopped at a convenience store in Southgate on May 2 and picked up a Lucky For Life ticket, according to a news release from the Michigan Lottery.

Durham, who buys a ticket every day, went online to check the winning numbers that morning and was “shocked” to see he’d won $25,000 a year for life.

“In 2014, I won a $250,000 KENO! prize, so it’s hard to believe I’ve won another big prize less than 10 years later! I feel like the luckiest person in Michigan,” he told lottery officials.

He chose to receive a one-time payment of $390,000 instead of annual payments of $25,000.

He plans to use some of the winnings to travel and will save the rest.

Southgate is located about 15 miles south of Detroit.
