Spanning nine seasons and bringing together one of the most iconic sitcom casts in recent history, How I Met Your Mother was beloved when it aired in 2005, and made stars Josh Radnor, Cobie Smulders, Alyson Hannigan, Jason Segel and, of course, Neil Patrick Harris truly legendary.

How I Met Your Mother ended on a sour note for some fans, but in the event that you adored the original series and have been on the hunt for something to fill the HIMYM void, gear up. A new spin-off series called How I Met Your Father is in the works, set to be executive produced by HIMYM creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and to star Hilary Duff. You can catch How I Met Your Father when it releases on Hulu.

How I Met Your Father doesn't have an official release date yet, but when it starts, you can stream the show as well as the original run of How I Met Your Mother on Hulu. Hulu’s streaming services are available through internet connection in the United States (including Puerto Rico and U.S. military bases). Hulu can be accessed through compatible devices, gaming consoles, mobile devices and web browsers.

Hulu is home to original series and films like Ramy, The Handmaid’s Tale, The United States vs. Billie Holiday, Normal People, Helstrom, The Great, Runaways, and Palm Springs. What will 'How I Met Your Father' be about?

The much-anticipated spinoff doesn't have an official trailer yet, but it will follow the story of Sophie (Hilary Duff) and her friends as they navigate life, their relationships and their careers. This Is Us showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger will write and executive produce the 10-episode series.

As of yet, it’s unclear exactly how the original series will factor into the plot of the spinoff, if at all. It’s taken many years to get a HIMYM spinoff made, with several false starts in the form of similarly named properties in 2016 and 2017, one of which was developed from a pilot by Aptaker and Berger.

You can catch all nine seasons of How I Met Your Mother on Hulu and keep an eye on the streaming service for more updates regarding the release of How I Met Your Father.
