The Houston Astros All-Star signed a five-year, $151 million extension – the second-biggest contract ever for a second baseman – before the 2018 season.

The deal would keep the three-time batting champion in a Houston uniform through 2024.

Robinson Cano, the former Seattle Mariners All-Star, holds the record for the biggest contract by total value by second baseman when he agreed to a 10-year, $240 million deal in 2014.
