Here's the perfect Christmas gift for the Cubs fan in your life
The Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series. You probably already know that. Since the victory, it’s been impossible to ignore the narrative, the World Series merchandise or Kris Bryant’s dreamy blue eyes. Everyone loves the Cubs right now, and they want you to know it.
As such, you would expect plenty of Cubs-related gifts to appear under the Christmas tree during the holiday season. Whether you’re collecting as much Cubs memorabilia as you can, or just looking for the perfect gift to give to your favorite Cubs fan, we have another one to add to your list.
Hallmark is releasing a Chicago Cubs 2016 World Series Keepsake Ornament just in time for the holidays. The ornaments will go on sale Friday Dec. 2. They’ll be sold at Chicago-land Hallmark stores and will also be available for pre-order at Hallmark.com.
Hallmark anticipates that only 15,000 ornaments will be available during the first run, so get them while you can. If you miss out, though, you can put your name on a wish list so that you’ll get an ornament before opening day.
On top of that, the company will also sell personalized ornaments commemorating the Cubs’ World Series. On the ornament pictured above, you can edit and personalize both areas of text. For example, the top can say “World Series Champs,” while the bottom has your families’ name and the year.
On the other, you can throw in a photo of your favorite World Series memory. If you’re one of the many fans who took a picture in front of the Wrigley Field sign following the team’s victory, this seems like the ideal place to use that photo.
“This is cool and all, but I’m not a Cubs fan,” you might be saying to yourself. Well, that’s fine too. Hallmark is also offering personalized kids books for the young baseball fan in your life. These can be customized to include any team. So, if your goddaughter Jovie loves rooting for the Milwaukee Brewers, you can make that happen.
You’re probably not hurting for Cubs World Series memorabilia this holiday season, but what’s one more thing or two to add to the list. This type of thing happens once every 108 years, so you might as well go all while you can.
