Heat’s Jimmy Butler again out Monday vs. Nets with stomach illness
The Miami Heat will again be without Jimmy Butler.
After initially being listed as questionable, Butler (stomach illness) has been ruled out for Monday night’s matchup against the Brooklyn Nets at Kaseya Center.
It marks the second straight game that Butler has missed with this ailment. The stomach illness forced Butler to leave Friday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder early before he missed Saturday’s loss to the Orlando Magic and then was also held out of Monday’s game against the Nets.
Butler, 35, has now missed seven of the Heat’s first 27 games of the season.
Butler, who has been at the center of trade speculation this month, is averaging 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting a career-best 55.2 percent from the field this season.
The Heat will also will be without Terry Rozier (left knee inflammation) and Josh Richardson (right heel inflammation) against the Nets.
It marks the fifth straight game that Richardson has missed with his heel issue, but it’s the first game that Rozier has missed because of his swollen knee. Rozier was added to the injury report on Monday afternoon before being ruled out just an hour before tipoff on Monday night.
The Nets will be without Bojan Bogdanovic (left foot injury recovery), Dorian Finney-Smith (left calf contusion), De’Anthony Melton (left knee ACL tear), Cam Thomas (left hamstring strain), Trendon Watford (left hamstring strain) and Ziaire Williams (left knee sprain) against the Heat.
