Have your say: Has your mental health been affected by the coronavirus pandemic?

Mental health services worldwide have been hugely disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) has warned.

The WHO said on Monday that 93% of countries have seen mental health services either disrupted or halted as a result of the spread of COVID-19.

A separate survey published on Monday by the University of Exeter found that one in five people in England reported experiencing mental health issues because of the pandemic.

Of the 5,000 people surveyed, 25% of women reported mental health issues compared to 15% of men.

In August, health leaders warned that the NHS should brace itself for a “rising tide” of patients in need of mental health support because of the coronavirus pandemic.

At the end of last month, a charity warned that up to 10 million Britons could need mental health support after the pandemic ends.
