Guamanian player scores bicycle kick goal, reveals 'MARRY ME' T-shirt and gets on knee for his girlfriend

Have you been watching the Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division in Guam lately?

Neither have we.

But it seems we’ve all been missing out.

Week 8 was, as we’ve come to expect from the Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division in Guam, packed with action. And in the 35th minute of Guam Shipyard’s clasico with NAPA Rovers, played at a literal walking pace, Ashton Surber bicycled a lofted cross home to put his side up 3-0 in a 5-1 win.

What happened next got our attention. He pulled off his jersey to reveal a white undershirt with two words printed on it: MARRY ME.

Ashton Surber
Surber had the most clever marriage propsal.

Then, as the referee, who doesn’t believe in love, showed him a yellow card for pulling off his jersey, Surber got down on a knee, kissed two fingers and pointed them at somebody in the largely empty stands.

With the win, the Rovers took over first place from the undefeated Shipyard. And La’Kiesha Pereda apparently said yes to Surber.

Just as we’re now saying yes to the Guamanian Budweiser Soccer League Premier Division.
