(Reuters) - New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. suffered an ankle sprain after taking a heavy tackle in Monday's preseason game against Cleveland, the Giants said. After catching a pass in the second quarter, the receiver was hit directly on his knee by Browns cornerback Briean Boddy-Calhoun. The speedy pass catcher limped off the field before heading to the locker room in pain. The Giants said the 24-year-old suffered only an ankle sprain but would be evaluated further. Beckham has reached the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons in the NFL, establishing himself as one of the league’s most dangerous receivers. The Giants kick off their season at Dallas on Sept. 11. (Writing by Jahmal Corner in Los Angeles; Editing by Peter Rutherford)
