Giancarlo Stanton is crushing home runs and making history in the postseason

Giancarlo Stanton’s bat has come alive at the right time for the New York Yankees.

After another season riddled by injuries, the $325 million man has already hit five home runs just four games into the postseason.

In Game 1 of the ALDS, Stanton capped a Yankees’ 9-3 win with a ninth-inning grand slam. Despite their 7-5 loss Game 2, Stanton stayed red hot by a pair of home runs against Tampa Bay Rays starter Tyler Glasnow. That includes this 458-foot missile in the fourth inning.

The three-run blast cut the Rays leads down to 5-4. In doing so, Stanton is now the first player in MLB history to have his first five hits in a postseason all be home runs. Earlier, Stanton hit a solo home run in the first inning.

Unfortunately for the Yankees, their pitchers could not hold down the Rays bats. Randy Arozarena, Manuel Margot, Mike Zunino and Austin Meadows all homered to help Tampa Bay even the ALDS at 1-1.
