Get drunk on spiked cider at Winter Classic in St. Louis

Remember the Winter Classic in Ann Arbor? We can still smell the hot chocolate being sold as fans wandered into The Big House (after being stuck in traffic and missing most of the first period).

We can also recall how vendors at the game were selling companion bottles of booze to “kick up” that hot chocolate and warm up the frigid fans.

So it’s in that grand tradition that the St. Louis Winter Classic between the Blues and the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 2, 2017 will feature three different kinds of warm apple cider that fans can dose with booze.

The Winter Classic at Busch Stadium will feature Country Apple Cider, Caramel Apple Cider and a Country Apple Cocktail. From Delaware North:

Three levels of heartwarming goodness! Fans will be able to get fresh pressed, warmed Apple Cider with a cinnamon stick for a classic taste. Or, sweeten the deal with our Caramel Infused warm Apple Cider, topped with whipped cream of course. Or, they can kick up the warm cider by adding Fireball Whiskey, Jameson Irish Whiskey or Crown Royal Apple Whiskey……truly heartwarming indeed!

INDEED!

So if you were worried about braving the elements at the Winter Classic, please know that you can have Caramel Apple Cider with a shot of Fireball (cue Pitbull horns) to warm you up.

(Also, don’t be worried, because it’s going to be roughly 24 degrees above freezing at the game, based on the extended forecast.)

Oh, and please, drink responsibly. By that we mean: Make sure you balance your intake of spiked cider with your intake of MEAT PUCK SUBS!

From Delaware North:

A new twist on the classic meatball sub. Two giant meatballs, hand pressed into “pucks”, grilled and served with marinara sauce, Provolone cheese, and Banana Peppers. A monster sandwich for a monster game!

Patties, pucks, whatever … hey, they’re trying.
