Cristiano Ronaldo has already scored six Champions League goals in just four games this season.
Forward

Cristiano Ronaldo, RMD @ APO (€27): Ronaldo has scored just once in his last five games, with his last one coming three games ago against Tottenham Hotspur. While he’s struggling to find the net in La Liga, he hass scored at least one goal in all four UCL games this season, including a brace in the reverse fixture against APOEL in their Group H opener. It’s clear that Ronaldo basks in the awards and accolades, and he will jump at the opportunity to pad his all-time Champions League goal record.

Forward to avoid

Roberto Firmino, LIV @ SEV (€23): The Brazilian forward has been involved in just one goal in his previous four games despite Liverpool scoring 13 goals over this time. He is very goal dependent to get any number of points and at his price, you’re better off going for any one of his teammates in Philippe Coutinho (€23), Sadio Mane (€22) or Mohamed Salah (€25).

Midfielder

Dries Mertens, NAP v SHK (€20): Mertens has scored just once this Champions League campaign, but the Italian side have played Manchester City twice now and are battling with Shakhtar Donetsk for second. Napoli are top of Serie A and have only lost to City this season. Mertens leads his side in goals (11) and assists (5) and should add to his tally tonight in what should be a high-scoring game for the Italians.

Midfielder to avoid

Christian Eriksen, TOT @ BVB (€20): The Dane lead his country to the World Cup with a spectacular hat-trick but he has failed to score or assist in five of his last six games for Spurs. Eriksen used to regularly score over 10 points but his floor has sunk in recent weeks and now needs to be involved directly with goals to score well.

Defender

Marcelo, RMD @ APO (€16): A win for the reigning champions will see them through into the next round. But Los Blancos will want to catch Spurs who are responsible for their only loss in Europe this year. Marcelo scored 8.7 and 9 points in two tough games against Spurs. The Brazilian managed that without a clean sheet or any attacking returns, instead relying on returns from a mix of attacking and defensive actions. Even without the injured Sergio Ramos, Madrid should keep their Cypriot opponents at bay and breach their defence a couple of times this week.

Defender to avoid

Omer Toprak, BVB @ TOT (€15): Toprak inflated his fantasy points per game (FPPG) in Dortmund’s home game with Apoel Nicosia with over 100 passes and two shots on target. Dortmund will not be able to control the game in the same way against the English side and will likely regress to his usual sub-10 points this time round.

Goalkeeper

Ederson, MCI v FEY (€15): John Stones is expected to be out of action for up to six weeks, but Pep Guardiola has said he will push his team every game to become the best they can be. The Manchester City juggernaut should continue tonight, although there may be a few changes to the side as they prepare for 10 games between now and Christmas. City are the biggest home favourites on the board and should be able to keep out a Feyenoord side who have scored three goals through their Group F games.

Goalkeeper to avoid

Huge Lloris, TOT v BVB (€15): Lloris’ made a total of 15 saves against Real Madrid across the two games but with Toby Alderweireld sidelined, Spurs looked more vulnerable at the back, as evidenced during the North London Derby with Arsenal on Sunday. Spurs should see the majority of the ball at home, which limits the Frenchman’s ability to make saves. Avoid at that price.
