Are you game? Erin hosting interactive Monopoly Night to gather public input to help shape township’s future
Erin Township has announced an interactive open house Monopoly Night to allow residents to provide input on community priorities.
On Oct. 9, the Town of Erin will be welcoming community members at the Erin Legion to play a game of real-life Monopoly. Attendees will be able to “invest” in community projects and initiatives using Monopoly money.
The input the community makes well be part of the town’s community strategic planning process. Erin Mayor Michael Dehn said in a press release that the night is a change for the community to come together, have fun and have their voices be heard.
“We want to ensure that our corporate strategic plan reflects the values and priorities of our residents,” Dehn said. “Your input is essential to shaping the future of our Town.”
The Monopoly format encourages residents to express their views on what the town should focus on over the following years in areas like infrastructure, recreation, economic development and environmental sustainability.
Residents can view the draft of the community strategic plan on the Erin Engaged website. A quick survey is also on the site for people to complete.
Monopoly Night will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion on 12 Dundas St. E.
