Fulham predictions 2024/25: Premier League finish, top goalscorer and season preview

Fulham have lost some big personalities in recent years and will have to deal with it yet again in the 2024/25 season after the departure of another key player.

Midfielder Joao Palhinha has finally sealed his switch to Bayern Munich, having failed to complete a move to Bavaria last summer when star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic departed for the Saudi Pro League.

However, Marco Silva managed to steer the Cottagers through the off-field turbulence to a finish of 13th in the Premier League. They've made a couple of promising additions during the transfer window, but where can the west Londoners be expected to finish this time around?

Here's 90min's season preview of Fulham's 2024/25 campaign.

Fulham's performance in the last five seasons

Portuguese boss Silva replaced Scott Parker in 2021 and managed to oversee the Cottagers' return to the Premier League in his first season in charge. Having struggled in previous stints with Hull City, Watford and Everton, the 47-year-old has got to grips with England's top flight in recent years, leading his side to finishes of tenth and 13th.

Fulham also reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup for the first time ever last season, being dumped out by Liverpool in a 3-2 defeat across two legs.

Fulham 2024/25 squad numbers

Rodrigo Muniz's terrific end of season form last term helped him emerge as Fulham's main goal threat and that status is reflected by his new number 9 shirt.

Bernd Leno is free to take the classic goalkeeper jersey after Marek Rodak's move to Saudi Arabia, while new signing Emile Smith Rowe will take the number 32. Ryan Sessegnon could claim 30, but that will depend on the future of current incumbent Carlos Vinicius, who has been linked with a transfer away.

Fulham 2024/25 kits

Fulham dropped their home kit at the start of July, with adidas' three stripe logo standing out on a white jersey with black on the shoulders and above the one-button collar.

The away shirt was released in early August and features a retro design with black and red stripes, with the club claiming it "evokes memories of famous away Fulham strips".

A third kit is also expected to be released but has not yet been announced.

Fulham predicted top goalscorer

Fulham enjoyed a productive 2023/24 season in front of goal with various players across the pitch contributing. Raul Jimenez, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Alex Iwobi notched seven, six and five Premier League goals, but it was Rodrigo Muniz who grabbed all the headlines at Craven Cottage.

The Brazilian 23-year-old came alive in the second half of the campaign despite not scoring in the league until early February. He ended up with nine strikes which included braces against Bournemouth and Tottenham, also claiming the Premier League Player of the Month award for March.

The Cottagers will need new signing Emile Smith Rowe to chip in and also provide Muniz with quality chances as he attempts to back up his breakout season with more goals this time around.

Fulham predicted Premier League finish

Fulham never got dragged into any relegation worry last season, sitting in 13th for most of the campaign as they grabbed vital wins at home to offset their less-than-inspiring away form.

It was a season of consolidation for manager Silva, who oversaw victories against Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, but there is undoubtedly a big hole to fill in midfield with the departure of Palhinha to German giants Bayern Munich. Defenders Tim Ream and Tosin Adarabioyo have also left.

Smith Rowe's arrival is an exciting one given he'll come from Arsenal with a point to prove, but Fulham may struggle to improve upon their finish of 13th last season.
