From likely touchdown to certain interception: script flips on Ja'Marr Chase

The NFL moves fast. Hold on tight.

Cincinnati wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase was on the way to a near-certain touchdown, a score that would have narrowed the Chargers' lead and helped Chase shore up his Offensive Rookie of the Year credentials. Except, well ... whoops.

Los Angeles' Michael Davis was right there and ready for the early Christmas gift, and just like that, another promising Cincinnati drive vaporized. A different angle shows the cringeworthy bobble:

Coming into the game, Chase had 906 yards and eight touchdowns on 50 receptions. He's already developed into one of the league's top receivers. But this is a target he'll leave off his personal 2021 highlight reel.

Like Chase, Cincinnati struggled early, giving up a fumble and this interception on the first two drives. Los Angeles turned this INT into a touchdown to go up 16-0, and held all the mojo early against the Bengals.
