Fresh off Triple Crown triumph, Justify hilariously graces cover of Louisville football media guide

The greatest thing a horse can do is win the Triple Crown. The greatest honor a horse can have is to be on the cover of Louisville’s football media guide.

The first sentence is true. The second isn’t. But we’re not lying when we say that Justify, who won the Triple Crown earlier this year, is on the cover of the Cardinals’ 2018 media guide.

Better yet, it looks like he belongs with the team. Look how happy he is!

The inclusion of Justify ostensibly fits the narrative Louisville is pushing of team speed. The small text at the bottom of the media guide cover says “Fast thoroughbreds aren’t the only ones who accelerate to win here. Louisville Cardinals have been taking flight at a break-neck pace for over a century.”

Is signing a horse to a scholarship against NCAA rules? Would Justify’s current income from stud fees make him ineligible? What position would a horse play? Would he be a good tailback or would you line him up in the slot?

Would a horse be better suited for defense because of its lack of hands? A safety horse would be a menacing presence in the secondary and wouldn’t let any receivers get behind him. Let’s go with that. Put Justify at safety, Louisville. Better yet, name the stadium after him. There’s an opening now.
