French gymnast suffers gruesome broken leg at Olympics (Warning: graphic video)

On the first full day of Olympic competition, we already have a heartbreaking story.

French gymnast Samir Ait Said suffered a grotesque broken leg while performing on the vault. The immediate post-injury photo is terrifying:

According to Juliet Macur on Twitter, a loud snap was heard when Said landed.

Said was stretchered off after the horrific injury.
