Formula 3 driver suffers spinal fracture, others injured in horrific crash in Macau

Formula 3 driver Sophia Floersch suffered a spinal fracture and others outside the track were injured in a crazy crash during a race in Macau, China.

Floersch lost control of her car as the field approached a slow right turn. Her car skidded toward the corner at a high rate of speed before getting airborne and flying into a catchfence on the outside of the corner where photographers and track marshals were stationed.

At least three people on the outside of the track suffered injuries.

Here’s what the wreck looked like in slow-motion. It’s nearly impossible to believe.

Floersch, 17, tweeted that she was “fine” but will be having surgery Monday. Floersch moved up to Formula 3 in 2018 from Formula 4. She entered Sunday’s race at Macau 22nd in the points standings.
