The Sharks' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, have signed Dell to an AHL contract for the 2024-25 season.

Dell, 35, played for the Barracuda back during the 2022-23 season, where he had a 15-17-4 record, a .898 save percentage (SV%), and a 3.14 goals-against average (GAA). He also played the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons with the Sharks' AHL affiliate before spending five seasons with the NHL squad from 2016-17 to 2019-20. He also appeared in four games for San Jose during the 2022-23 season.

Dell should be a good veteran goalie for the Barracuda to have around for the season. Given his immense experience, he should be a valuable mentor to the Sharks' prospects.

Dell spent the 2021-22 season with the Sabres organization. In 12 games with Buffalo, he posted a 1-8-1 record, a .893 SV%, and a 4.03 GAA. He primarily played with the Rochester Americans during that campaign, recording a 12-7-1 record, a .909 SV%, and a 2.91 GAA in 22 games for the AHL squad.
