Add Bobby Bowden to the list of college football figures endorsing Donald Trump for president.

Bowden, the longtime Florida State head coach, introduced Trump at a rally in Tampa on Monday night. Bowden, 86, was brought out on stage with the Seminole war chant and wore an American flag tie. He told those in attendance that he, his wife, his two daughters and three granddaughters are all voting for Trump.

“I was invited to come down and introduce our new president,” Bowden said. “I’ve never known an election more meaningful than this one. We’ve got to win this thing.”

Bowden said he is on board with Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan and Trump’s pledges to strengthen the military.

“I don’t think our military right now is what it needs to be and I like that Donald Trump said he wants to rebuild our military,” Bowden said.

“We have been a great nation because of our teachers, because of our doctors, because of all of our people and citizens of this nation. But it couldn’t happen without a strong military. They’re the ones who defend us. Aren’t you getting tired of these other nations embarrassing us?”

Bowden then urged the folks in attendance to make sure they vote.

“Nov. 8, that’s the kickoff,” Bowden said. “You got to be there. You got to vote.”

Bowden joins the likes of Lou Holtz and Washington State coach Mike Leach among coaches to endorse Trump. Longtime Indiana basketball coach Bobby Knight also introduced Trump before the Indiana Republican primary back in April.

Bowden was Florida State’s coach from 1976-2009. He amassed a 304-97-4 overall record during that span, including 12 ACC titles and two national championships.
