SOCHI, Russia (AP) -- Teemu Selanne left Finland's hockey opener with an upper-body injury, but is expected to return for its second game at the Olympics.

The ''Finnish Flash'' played in the first period and had an assist Thursday against Austria and wasn't on the ice in the second or third periods. He had eight shifts before trainers on the bench massaged his neck and shoulders.

''It's tough to see him get injured, but he'll be OK,'' teammate Olli Jokinen said. ''He's a big part of this team and he's our leader. It's never easy when you lose a guy like him.''

The 43-year-old Anaheim Ducks forward is the oldest hockey player at the Sochi Games and has tied a record by playing in the Olympics for a sixth time.

Selanne has helped the Finns become the only nation with three medals since NHL players joined the Olympics in 1998 and to win four medals in the previous five Winter Games.
