The Final Five Hangs Out with the Obamas

From Cosmopolitan

The Olympics may be over, but the Final Five is still winning gold on a daily basis.

On Thursday, Team U.S.A. superstars Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Aly Raisman, and Madison Kocian reunited at the White House for a special ceremony celebrating all the athletes who competed at the Rio Olympics. While there, Simone was given the honor of presenting President Barack Obama with a psychedelic surfboard covered in all the athletes' autographs, and the Commander-in-Chief responded by singing the praises of Team U.S.A.'s women athletes.

"The reason our country is so proud of this year's Team U.S.A. is: 2016 belonged to America's women Olympians," he said. "I mean, y'all crushed it... And as the father of two young women, for them to have that example of health and drive and competition and persistence and strength, it makes me really proud."

Along with casually spending some quality time with the president, the Final Five - minus Gabby Douglas, who had to miss the event after getting her wisdom teeth removed - also got to spend time with first lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, and everyone's favorite pups, Bo and Sunny.

"We jokingly said to President Obama, ‘Will you please adopt us?,'" Laurie told Us Weekly. "And he said, ‘Oh sure, my oldest is going to college so we need someone to fill in the space!’ He said, ‘You can have sleepovers and pizza!’ We said, ‘Yes please!’ They were really nice."

The ladies later got to take over the White House's Instagram for the day, and it definitely looks like they had the time of their lives.

Laurie even got some practice time in for Dancing with the Stars! Talk about multitasking.
