#FeelGoodFriday: Steph Curry unveils girls' version of his shoes with fan who asked for them

For all but a select few sports fans, much of the news surrounding teams and players is far from good. Losses, injuries, playoff eliminations, suspensions, last-place fantasy football punishments, you name it.

Young fan’s letter leads to Steph Curry, Under Armour selling girls’ version of shoes

Back in November, 9-year-old Warriors fan Riley Morrison handwrote a letter to Steph Curry asking why his shoes weren’t available in the girls’ section. She was hoping to buy a pair for her new basketball season, and was understandably disappointed.

True to form, Curry responded with a letter of his own. In addition, Riley received a pair of the Curry 5’s as well as an invite to Oakland on International Women’s Day for “something special.”

Well, that day is today! Curry and Riley jointly celebrated the girls’ version release of the Curry 6 “United We Win,” featuring a sockliner that she designed herself.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Wolves celebrate Women’s History Month

The NBA community around the league did its part to celebrate women, too.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Taj Gibson and their Timberwolves teammates visited Earle Brown Elementary School in Brooklyn Center, Minn. They read books that “focused on empowering women” to the students, getting a head start on International Women’s Day as well as honoring the overarching Women’s History Month.

The efforts followed the sports world’s great work on behalf of last month’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day.

Ty Law takes in Hall of Fame for first time as inductee

3-time Super Bowl champion Ty Law vowed never to set foot in Canton at the Pro Football Hall of Fame — unless and until it was for his own enshrinement.

Law broke that promise exactly one time: In 2012 to support Curtis Martin, his teammate from both the Patriots and Jets, for Martin’s induction ceremony.

Yet on Wednesday, Law returned as a member of the class of 2019 alongside former Chiefs safety Johnny Robinson, who was also elected this year after being named the Seniors Finalist. They got a standing O:

Pep Guardiola, Gareth Southgate help promote Special Olympics World Games

To hype you up for the weekend, check out this awesome promo for next week’s Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi featuring Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and England national soccer team coach Gareth Southgate.

The commercial also includes two-time Olympic medal-winning figure skater and Special Olympics board member Michelle Kwan, five-time Paralympic gold medal-winning swimmer Ellie Simmonds, boxer David Haye and England women’s national soccer team player Alex Scott.
