The man killed in a shooting at Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers Airport on Tuesday was the father of Kansas City Chiefs long snapper James Winchester.

Mike Winchester, 52, was an employee of Southwest Airlines. He also was a punter at the University of Oklahoma in 1984-85.

James Winchester, who like his father played at Oklahoma, joined the Chiefs in 2015 and played in all 16 games. He has played all nine games this season as well.

The shooting occurred at 1 p.m. local time inside the airport terminal. Police and airport officials closed the airport after the shooting and told those inside the terminal to seek shelter and all streets around the facility were blocked off.
