Last year, Jose Berrios was the can’t-miss pitching prospect who missed in the biggest, baddest way imaginable. After posting stellar control numbers in the minors, he walked everyone he saw in the big leagues. When all the numbers were in, his ratios were appalling: 8.02 ERA, 1.87 WHIP, 5.4 BB/9. If you can’t possibly trust him again … well, we understand.
But Berrios is coming back, recalled for a Saturday start against Cleveland, so we spent time discussing his potential on Friday’s Freak Show. Berrios has once again been nasty at Triple-A, so he still belongs on the fantasy radar. We dive into a few sketchy bullpen situations on this week’s pod, too. Because the people can never get enough Neftali Feliz convo.
Listen up, listeners.
