  • Salma Hayek, 55, started the week with a fresh-faced, makeup-free selfie while wearing a sunhat and bikini.

  • Fans loved the Eternals star’s natural look.

  • She loves posing in bikinis on Instagram, and maintains her skin with a simple, intuitive routine.

Sunday scaries are no match for Salma Hayek, who started the week with a celebratory makeup-free selfie. “Happy Sunday!!! 😎. Feliz domingo!!!! 😘. #sundayvibes #nomakeup,” the Eternals star captioned the Instagram.

Needless to say, followers adored the shot and its positive energy. “You are so stunningly beautiful ...who needs makeup when you look like you,” one person commented. “Blessed Sunday to you 🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥,” another added. “Forever Incredible!!😍😍😍” someone else wrote.

In the close-up photo, the House of Gucci star wears a woven sunhat, what appears to be a pink bikini top, and some sort of cover-up wrap. Her hair is slightly disheveled with natural curls, as if air-dried after a swim.

The 55-year-old’s Instagram grid makes it look like she practically lives in bathing suits, and that representation isn’t super far off. (She even followed her makeup-free selfie with a black two-piece shot.) Modeling swimsuits admittedly makes the House of Gucci star feel empowered.

In February 2021, she told Entertainment Tonight that she finds the process “liberating.” When she goes on vacation, she rotates through her bikini wardrobe and has fun in front of the camera.

“I’m glad I took a lot of pictures, I have no shame on it,” she said. “I’m spreading the love out [on Instagram] like every two weeks.” She continued: “They’re going to think I’m wearing a bikini every day. No, they’re all from the same location.”

And of course, most of those snaps feature her makeup-free skin, which she tends to with a very low-maintenance routine. In 2017, she told The New York Times that she never washes her face in the morning, she uses coconut oil to remove makeup, and she’s careful not to over-exfoliate. “Exfoliating a lot may make you look good in the short term, but not I think in the long term,” she said.

In 2015, she told Glamour that she’ll sometimes throw rose water in the mix, “sometimes, straight to the cream,” she added. Most importantly, she listens to her skin. “You have to see how the skin feels every day,” she said.

Clearly, that intuition has worked for her (and it’s free!), so it’s definitely worth trying.
