Applying false lashes is no easy task. But even for one superglam mother, it proved to be impossible.
In a tweet, Molly Robbins, an award-winning British cake baker, revealed a hilarious incident that occurred when her mom, Judy, attempted to put on falsies without her reading glasses. What initially looked like a set of lashes turned out to be something very different.
Text from mum – having trouble sticking lashes on without her glasses.. turns out she was trying to glue a dead fly to her eyelid. I'm out. pic.twitter.com/2vNpcW5l5n

“Turns out she was trying to glue a dead fly to her eyelid,” Robbins wrote alongside the irksome photo of the bug and the lash, sent to her by her mom.
Still, people don’t seem to totally buy into the story.

Robbins spoke to Yahoo Beauty to confirm that the incident really did take place and that her mom is apparently not so happy that everyone knows about it.
“My mum is superglam but struggles to see anything without her reading glasses,” she says. “I had recommended the individual lashes because I had used them a few weeks before. I was working away when she texted me that photo and said she had been accidentally trying to stick the dead fly to her eyelid! We laughed about it a lot, but she’s mortified now that it’s gone so viral.”

At least the tale can serve as a warning to all that applying cosmetics with impaired vision can indeed be dangerous.
