Ex Napoli Star ‘Revving Up The Engine’ At Crucial Point In Season For Inter Milan
Midfielder Piotr Zielinski is finally “revving up the engine” at a crucial point in the season for Inter Milan.
This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInter1908.
When Zielinski arrived at Inter on a free transfer this summer, he did so as one of the most lauded midfielders in Serie A.
Zielinski had spent eight seasons at Napoli prior to joining Inter. He also impressed for the likes of Empoli and Udinese before that.
Under the likes of Maurizio Sarri, Carlo Ancelotti, and Gennaro Gattuso, Zielinski had been a regular starter for the Partenopei.
But it was the arrival of Luciano Spalletti as coach that really heralded the beginning of Zielinski’s best form.
The Polish international was a key player for Napoli in winning the 2022-23 Serie A title.

There were naturally high expectations for Zielinski at Inter.
The 30-year-old did not quite live up to them right away.
Zielinski’s first few weeks at the Nerazzurri saw the Pole recovering from a muscle injury that he’d picked up in preseason and which caused him to miss Inter’s opening match of the campaign.
Then, there has been the simple fact that Zielinski has still been settling in.
It was never going to be easy for the 30-year-old to break into a midfield with Nicolo Barella and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in it, not to mention Davide Frattesi.
But Zielinski has made a couple starts for Inter already. He impressed with his performances against Manchester City and Red Star Belgrade.
Both those starts came in the Champions League. Zielinski has yet to start a match in Serie A for Inter.
But that is only a matter of time.
And the sense is that Zielinski is now ready to show the kind of form that he did at his best for Napoli.
And that can be a major asset for Inter at a key point in the campaign.
