We asked for your thoughts after Saturday's pre-season friendly between Everton and Roma.

Here are some of your comments:

Paula: It was a very encouraging display! The new signings look very promising. Looking forward to the season ahead. I think with lack of resources the club has done really well in the transfer market.

Daniel: Good to see us looking more offensively minded in second half, but first half was disappointing as we didn’t get the ball into Calvert-Lewin and looked a bit toothless up front. But the boys did not give up and next week will be the real test.

Neil: Another long season, I just hope there are three teams worse than us.

Bev: Good signs from the new players. I feel this season will be more productive all over the field. We just need Calvert-Lewin to make his mind up quickly, our forwards need him or someone else.

Greg: There were a few sketchy performances. Calvert-Lewin Looks like he wants to be anywhere but Goodison. McNeil was poor and Doucoure's ball control lets him and the team down even though he's a Dyche favourite and will start the first game. The new lads need to start next week. Ndiaye is a breath of fresh air.
