ESPN reporter Laura Rutledge announces birth of son: 'Our angel baby'

ESPN reporter Laura Rutledge announced a new addition to her family, revealing she gave birth to a baby boy in May.

The “NFL Live" and SEC Network host said on Twitter on Monday she gave birth to her second child and first son on May 25, named Jack Alexander Rutledge. She also shared images of Jack

"Our angel baby," Rutledge wrote.

Rutledge also shared photos of Jack, and a video of her daughter, 3-year-old Reese, meeting her new sibling.

In an interview with People, Rutledge said she "never thought" she could have children given her career, "so to have two is beyond my wildest dreams."

"It’s so special to know that we are giving our daughter Reese a sibling, especially after going through a heartbreaking miscarriage in 2021," Rutledge said.

Rutledge told People she was "incredibly fortune" she was supported by ESPN throughout her pregnancy.

"I’ll always treasure knowing Jack was with me during some of the biggest moments of my career from NFL sidelines in London to the Super Bowl and College Football Playoff Semifinal coverage," Rutledge said.

Rutledge was also known for working the 2023 NFL draft while nine months pregnant. She told The Athletic during the draft in Kansas City, Missouri, that she got a doctor’s approval to work the draft

“For me, it was first about making sure I was healthy and everything was fine,” she said.

She also told ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter on "The Adam Schefter Podcast" it "was not the most comfortable I've ever been in life," but she was thankful to be there to work.
