EPL betting: Chelsea is a big favorite against Manchester United

Thanksgiving weekend includes a lot of English football as well.

The English Premier League has a full slate of games on Saturday and Sunday. The headline game of the weekend is Manchester United's first game without Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager. Caretaker manager and former United player Michael Carrick is in charge after Solskjaer was fired. Manchester United beat Villareal in the Champions League on Tuesday in Carrick's first game leading the team.

The Red Devils are big underdogs against Chelsea on Sunday. Chelsea split Juventus apart on Tuesday and has been one of the best teams in the league so far. Here are the betting odds for every game this weekend. All games are Saturday unless noted and all odds are from BetMGM.

Arsenal vs. Newcastle (over/under 2.5 goals)

  • Arsenal (-225)

  • Newcastle (+500)

  • Tie (+400)

Eddie Howe has his work cut out for him to get Newcastle out of the relegation zone before the January transfer window. Arsenal should be the pick here.

Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa (2.5)

  • Crystal Palace (+120)

  • Aston Villa (+220)

  • Tie (+240)

Palace and Burnley played a thriller last week while Villa got a 2-0 win against Brighton in Steven Gerrard’s managerial debut. The tie is tempting here.

Liverpool vs. Southampton (3.5)

  • Liverpool (-350)

  • Southampton (+850)

  • Tie (+500)

It’s slightly surprising that Liverpool’s odds to win aren’t smaller. Go with the Reds.

Norwich City vs. Wolves (2.5)

  • Norwich City (+250)

  • Wolves (+105)

  • Tie (+250)

Norwich upset Southampton last week while Wolves got a big win over West Ham. Go with Wolves, especially since they’re at better than even odds.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Leeds (2.5)

  • Brighton & Hove (+100)

  • Leeds (+275)

  • Tie (+250)

Leeds took a 1-0 lead at Tottenham before losing 2-1 on Sunday. The tie here also looks tempting given the way that Brighton has played lately.

Burnley vs. Tottenham (2.5) [Sunday]

  • Burnley (+275)

  • Tottenham (-110)

  • Tie (+260)

Antonio Conte’s Tottenham debut was a great one with two second-half goals. But Spurs was lifeless in the first half of that game. Why not go with Burnley at home and parlay that with the under.

Manchester City vs. West Ham (3.5) [Sunday]

  • Manchester City (-300)

  • West Ham (+850)

  • Tie (+425)

West Ham dropped points last week. But these odds make it tantalizing to take the Hammers against a Man City team that had to play PSG on Wednesday.

Leicester City vs. Watford (2.5) [Sunday]

  • Leicester City (-175)

  • Watford (+450)

  • Tie (+310)

Leicester has been in rough shape recently while Watford is coming off that Manchester United win. We’ll go over 2.5 goals.

Brentford vs. Everton (2.5) [Sunday]

  • Brentford (+120)

  • Everton (+240)

  • Tie (+225)

Brentford’s odds being half of Everton’s isn’t something you could have envisioned at the beginning of the year. Let’s go with a tie.

Chelsea vs. Manchester United (2.5) [Sunday]

  • Chelsea (-175)

  • Manchester United (+450)

  • Tie (+310)

We’re going to go with the same advice we gave last week. Bet the total, not on the outcome when it comes to Manchester United right now. Over 2.5 goals is at -115. A 2-1 game seems very possible.
