Emmerdale viewers rejoice as Paddy and Mandy Dingle reunite

Emmerdale fans have rejoiced after Paddy and Mandy Dingle reunited in Thursday's (June 8) double bill of episodes.

The former couple have been involved in a 'will they / won't they' storyline ever since Paddy discovered that estranged wife Chas Dingle cheated on him with Al Chapman.

Mandy has been supportive of Paddy as he struggled with his mental health, leading to the pair discovering there may still be a romantic flame between them.

In Thursday's hour-long episode, Paddy continued to grapple over whether he should reunite with Mandy when he found out Bear was the one sticking his nose in.

Paddy was shocked as Bear admitted he'd tried to kiss Mandy, especially when his father was nonchalant about making a move on his son's ex-wife. Bear turned the tables by challenging Paddy to go for Mandy if he truly loves her, warning his son that he only had "so many chances" to be happy.

"Please, don't stop yourself from being happy," Bear demanded.

Bear then went to see Mandy to remind her that she made everyone around her a better person, then encouraged her not to write off Paddy. Paddy later went out in the pouring rain to apologise to Mandy, admitting that he says "stupid things" because he still feels lost.

"I'm scared of losing our friendship because if I lose that, I lose you," Paddy said.

Mandy tried to pretend it was best to keep their relationship platonic, but Paddy confessed that he loves her and was done wavering. Mandy seemed confused by the revelation, yet she stopped Paddy from walking away from her again.

As Mandy admitted she was just trying to set up a romantic moment where he could kiss her in the rain, Paddy rushed over and they indeed kissed.
