Eastern Michigan suspends starting QB Brogan Roback
It looks like Eastern Michigan will be without starting quarterback Brogan Roback when the season begins.
EMU coach Chris Creighton confirmed to the Detroit Free-Press that Roback has been suspended for violating department and team rules. Creighton did not say how many games Roback will miss — if any.

“With the privilege of being a member of the Eastern Michigan University football program there are expectations and standards to which we hold our student-athletes accountable,” Creighton said in a statement. “Unfortunately, Brogan has been suspended due to a violation of our policies.”
Roback threw for 2,304 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 12 starts for the Eagles last season. Roback started four games in 2013 as a true freshman and also played in three games and started one in 2014 before receiving a medical redshirt.
With Roback out, the Free-Press projects junior college transfer Todd Porter to assume the starting role. Porter, who began his career at Western Kentucky, threw for 1,218 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore at Garden City (Kansas) Community College in 2015.
